When you're two, you cheese!!! :0)

G just recently went to get his '2 year old' pictures taken. When we were dressing in the morning I asked G what he wanted to wear and he wanted to wear his 'football'. So we wore his jersey, thankfully the Patriots were playing today so we didn't look like complete outsiders.

Such a ham-- just a few on here becuase I have big ideas for the rest!!! ;0)

Fire House Tours

While we were in MA we were able to visit the Westminster FireHouse. It was such a great experience for both myself and for G. I think he had an absolute blast having a personal tour guide!

G got to sit in the drivers seat of three different fire trucks, he got to go in the back of an ambulance, watch the Firemen move a firetruck, beep the horn, turn on the lights. He was so amazed by these trucks!

Thank you to the Westminster Fire Department for taking us on a tour and letting a little boy fall in love with your profession!!

PS- Gunnar is being a Fireman for halloween!!! :0)

Pre-Deployment Leave

Daddy came home for his pre-deployment leave and we had a wonderful time! It was so great to get to spend a precious week and a half with Daddy! We got to play, relax and had a lot of travelling to do. Next leave we get we have decided that we are not going to travel. We are going to spend time with just us, and our little family. It was nice to be able to let Jared's and my family see Jared before he left, but it didn't give us much time together as a family.
Here are a few pictures from our travels around the East Coast!

Daddy and Gunnar work on Lola before selling her.

Daddy andGunnar relax during the morning.
Then it was off to Upstate NY, the weather was Beautiful, chrisp yet colorful! Perfect fall weather.

Then it was off to MA, chilly weather, but nice! - Hard to believe that a week after G and I left they got 24" of snow!!!!

Family Shot!!!! I love my boys!

Daddy and G riding the four wheeler- or should I say g riding and Daddy chasing!!

It's been a while...

Hello. I surely has been a while since I have written a post. We have been busy, settling in on the East Coast, travelling to MA and MD, and all of the activities that G is enrolled in.

Gunnar has been busy cleaning up after the hurricane that we received here in MD, cleaning up the backyard, watching the rabbits with his binnoculars and dressing himself for his daily excursions!!!!

Boys, Boys, Boys

Before we left Hawaii we had a fire to get rid of some of Jared's old scrap wood from his projects around the house. We let Gunnar stay up really late and enjoy the fire and the moon with his Daddy. Jared told Gunnar that they'd always be looking at the same moon and to think of Daddy when he sees the moon.
This is just a random picture of Daddy that we are going to use for Gunnar's 'Daddy Doll'. :0)

Gunnar always makes Jared take off his boots when he gets home to make sure he's not leaving again. So after the boots have been taken off Gunnar will place them by the door just so and walk away making sure throughout the night that those boots don't leave.

By for Now, Hawaii and Daddy

We spent our last weekend together at the Hale Koa hotel for a 'staycation'. It was so nice that we didnt have a thing to do with the house, not a worry in the world, other than the looming dark cloud of departure. We were so excited to spend three days with daddy at the beach and pool!

Gunnar with Sadie and Bear at the Hale Koa. He takes those two everywhere.
Eating his special treat and posing for the camera.

Loving on daddy.

The smiles look oddly similiar??? No?

Our last family picture together for a while.

He was getting so brave and going into the baby pool all by himself.

Daddy and Gunnar swimming together.

In the pool alone!!!! :0) don't worry we were sitting right there ready to jump in.

Aloha for now Daddy. We love you and miss you more than you will ever know. Stay Safe and God Speed you home. xoxo

Happy Birthday

We were so blessed to be able to spend his birthday this year with family. Daddy has been deployed both birthdays, but has been able to skype each birthday with him, so we thank God for that as well. Gunnar felt so special for three days! On Friday we took him to the fair and let him ride rides, pet the animals, play games, ride on the tractors and get a milk shake. We came home and he got a cupcake with two candles and sang to him; he loved getting sung to so much that he asked us to do it 5 more times! Finally, I recorded it and just let him play it over and over. He kept telling us it was Gunnar's special day because it was his birthday. :0)

I am so thankful that I have such great friends that I have grown up with that were willing to brave the hurricane and come over for a small birthday party for him on Saturday. He felt so special and kept telling everyone that it was his birthday party. He asked multiple times for RoRo, Aunti Lisa, Ellie and PJ and I had to explain that they were still at home and couldnt make it to this years birthday party. He then told me he wanted to go home and see them. :0( Broke my heart.

Gunnar blowing out his candles!

Trying to get him to smile with me for a picture. He was WAY to interested in his truck.

Eating his 'dirty cake'.

It warmed my heart to know how excited he was during the whole weekend. On Sunday Uncle Neal came over and help set up the train set that Daddy got for Gunnar. We sang to him and let him blow out more candles today. He loved having a weekend for his birthday, I suppose I shouldn't start weekend long birthdays, but if it makes him happy then I am okay with it.
