Overwhelming Support = Humbled Heart

Jared is from a small town in MA, Westminster. Although it is a small town, everyone is family. Everyone takes care of each other. The principle of the Elementary School was a previous teacher of Jared's (3rd grade, I believe) and she was so eager to support him while he is deployed. The students of Westminster Elementary School and Meeting House School all wrote Christmas cards to the Marines of 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines, raised money to send them supplies and even wore Camoflauge in their honor to school one day. I am so humbled that this town and the people in it care for our troops and for Jared enough to have such an outpour of support and willingess to help. It is the first real support that I have seen with my eyes for our troops and I am so grateful that there are people who still care about them. One doesn't have to support the war we are fighting, but should always support the troops that keep them safe each day and night and allow for us all to have the freedoms we take for granted each and every day. I am a proud Marine wife and will be my entire life.

Little Boys and Dirt go hand in hand- no matter what mommy wants!

So, my son is the spitting image of his father, who is the spitting image of his father; and do you want to know the one HUGE thing they have in common?? Their LOVE, OBSESSION and DESIRE for and of DIRT. I don't know what it is with the Streeter men, but they find the biggest dirt piles in the entire universe and then they jump in them, roll in them, work in them and bring most of them home on their sneakers, boots, pants pockets, ears, hair, nails, you name it.
It's a very fun thing for boys to play in, I mean who wouldn't have fun getting dirty, finding bugs, climbing to the top of the world?? Me- Mommy, I get to wash it out of all the places that it gets brought home in! It is extremely cute though, watching my boys play in the dirt. Well, for now, my little boy. He loves it! He got a special treat when his Bubba took him to work for a few hours! He got to ride in a dump truck and an excavator; pour dirt out of the dump truck and move it with the excavator and then hop out and run in it, climb on it and just have fun with it! So as much as I don't like it, I love watching Gunnar have fun with it!

Gunnar and his second cousin, Annabelle. Cheesing for the camera and riding on Daddy's old tractor. So much fun still left in that thing, waiting to be had!

Bear Bottom of a Christmas

Mimi and Bubba got all the grandkids bear bottom jammies this year and even though we didn't all get to take a picture together this is a cute one of Gunnar. ;0) Christmas trees..... It took us walking the entire tree farm, finding a bees nest and riding on a tractor to find this tree- which is the first one we looked at when we walked in!!!!! It's alright, good exercise though!
This is the second Christmas Jared hasn't been with us to get and decorate the tree, so we are really looking forward to next Christmas (yes, I know this one is not even over yet). But it is still magical to decorate the tree with my baby! He gets better and better as the years go on.

The tree that took us all day to find!! At least Mimi got to have the exotic, new tree she wanted to have--- I hope it smells as good as we thought it was supposed to!! xoxox

Who is Who?

So if the picture looked a little more like I had taken it you might not be able to guess which one is Jared and which one is Gunnar. Okay, maybe you could, but I still think it is so cute to have the same toy that your dad played with you you still get so much enjoyment and get to have so many adventures with it!!

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time of the year. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday, but starting in September all the way through January I am in awe. I love that time of the year. I do hate the snow, but love the meaning and feelings that come with the fall and winter.
Thanksgiving is a time when people remember why they are thankful, why they are happy, what got them to where they are, the people who love them and make them who they are. And getting to spend holidays together, with the parties and the fun and laughter and drink and desserts makes everyone happy!! We got to spend this year in MA with Jared's family. It was so fun. First, we had to remember to bring Georgie on the airplane with us! It was a bit of a rough flight to begin with, but we made it. Two motion sick people, some shaking hands and feet and a few throw up mishaps and we were touch down in NH to meet bubba and mimi!! There was a small amount of snow on the ground when we got home we just couldn't wait to put on our jackets, hats or mittens... we dove right in!!! Little did Gunnar know snow is actually COLD!!!

Once we learned how cold snow was and how frozen it made us, we quickly put on out hats, jackets, sweatpants and elmo slippers! Who wouldn't be ready for an outing like this??

Getting to visit with friends is also a special part of the Holiday season, it seems everyone comes home for the holidays. So getting to see 'Uncle Matt' was extra fun for us!! Gunnar thinks that 'Uncle Matt' plays every sport on TV, skateboards and BMX's. So having him in person was a great adventure!
My wonderful sibling-in-laws, Brie and Tim had Thanksgiving dinner at their house this year. We loved being able to run wild in the basement and get into all of Uncle Timbo's golf balls ;0)

It was great being able to bring two families together and celebrate a wonderful holiday over great food and great company!

Nieces Pieces

Our Niece, Ainsley Grace, to whom we are absolutely in love with! Such a proud Auntie that I just had to share!

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

This is the second birthday of Jared's that he's been deployed for. So this year, with my family around I bought a small ice cream cake, which you'll see below has a piece missing becuase Gunnar couldn't resist the urge to have a small sliver, we sang happy birthday and ate delicious cake in honor of Jared! I emailed him the videos and pictures so that he could feel like he spent his birthday with us! He was very appreciative of that.

I tried to upload a video, but it gave me an error, maybe later.
